Dr. Kate Greenberg, D.V.M.

Dr. Kate Greenberg, D.V.M.

Owner/Medical Director

As of March 2018, Dr. Greenberg became the proud owner and medical director of Monroe Animal hospital. She earned a doctorate in veterinary medicine in May 2009 from the University of Missouri Columbia CVM. She did a pre-clinical veterinary curriculum of BVMS (DVM equivalent) at Glasgow University College of Veterinary Medicine from 2004-2006. Dr. Greenberg also earned a B.S. in Zoology, concentration in Neurobiology/Animal Behavior from Michigan State University, 2004. She is the 2009 recipient of the Anne Miller-Roth and Jerome E. Roth Equine Proficiency Award, for proficiency, interest, significant contributions, and superior performance in Equine Medicine and Surgery. She is a previous member of the Michigan State University Polo Team and loves to care for and ride her horses in her free time.

Dr. Greenberg looks forward to serving the community as she continually keeps up on the newest technologies for small animal, exotic and large animal medicine. She has a special interest in theriogenology and reproductive medicine as well as diagnostic Ultrasound. Among Dr. Greenberg’s greatest attributes is her capacity for caring and her ability to communicate with our furry friends and their people. Her dedication to providing the best possible medical care is unwavering.

Dr. Barker

Dr. Barker

Veterinarian

Dr. Barker has been working with animals for the past 20 years. She started with working as a kennel assistant at a grooming facility then at several different animal hospitals. Dr. Barker earned an Associates degree from Delhi University in 2004 in Applied Sciences through the Veterinary Technician Program. She graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor in Veterinary Management and worked as a Veterinary Technician from 2006 to 2010 focusing on oncology and small animal/exotic medicine. In 2014 Dr. Barker graduated from St George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, completing her clinical year at the University of Tennessee with a focus in exotic medicine. Dr. Barker’s passion and love for exotics led her to extern at Broward Avian and Exotics Animal Hospital in Florida. She has had the honor of sharing her life with many exotic animals ranging from geckos to rats, hamsters, gerbils, and budgies. Currently she resides with her fiancé, two cats Charlie and Pretty Girl and when she is not taking care of your family she loves to read, watch football, take in some music festivals and spend time in the great outdoors.
Dr. Megan Knoell, D.V.M.

Veterinarian

Dr. Knoell has had a love of animals her entire life.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Environmental Biology in Syracuse, NY at SUNY – College of Environmental Science and Forestry in the winter of 2010.  She then attended vet school at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH where she earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2015.  Afterwards, she completed an equine medical and surgical internship in Cave Creek, AZ at Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center.  She then moved back to her home state to work in mixed animal practice.  Dr. Knoell enjoys working with multiple species, particularly horses, dogs, cats, and small ruminants. She also has a special interest in behavior medicine. She lives locally with her husband, her 6 dogs, and 4 horses.  Outside of work, Dr. Knoell enjoys horseback riding, hiking, dog training, and spending time with her family. 
Lauren Felix

Lauren Felix

Certified Veterinary Practice Manager

Lauren came to Monroe Animal Hospital in September 2018. She has been a Veterinary Practice Manager since 2005. Lauren has a degree in Environmental Science/Wildlife management and has done research on spotted owls and several forest sensitive species, and also worked as a zookeeper. Lauren found her true niche when she entered the veterinary profession as it combines her leadership skills and a true passion for animals. Lauren lives locally with her dog Phoebe and her two cats Norman and Ophelia. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys hiking, outdoor activities, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Christina Procopio

Christina Procopio

Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician

Christina is our Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician at Monroe Animal Hospital. She came to Monroe Animal Hospital from Central Texas. Christina served as a Military Police Officer in the US Army, stationed on Fort Hood. After separation from the Army, she continued on to graduate as a Licensed Veterinary Technician from McLennan College, interning at numerous Veterinary Hospitals. Prior to her time with us, she worked as a technician primarily in the Equine field. She is very happy to be back working with all of our fuzzy friends in New York. Christina has two amazing cats at home, Eyes, and Terrorist. She is the mother to an amazing 5-year-old little girl and loves spending time with her daughter and husband.
Ashlyne Sullivan

Ashlyne Sullivan

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Ashlyne received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from SUNY Geneseo in 2017. She continued her education at Alfred State and graduated as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2019, where she gained experience working with small animals through internships. Ashlyne has worked on numerous dairy farms, focusing on medical trials, calf management, and herd health. She began her career at Monroe Animal Hospital in May 2019. Ashlyne has lived in Monroe all of her life. She loves spending time with her family and two dogs, Storm and Skye. In her free time, she enjoys exercising and being outdoors.
Chris DiNapoli

Chris DiNapoli

Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Attendant

Chris is one of Monroe’s natives. He is known for his work with the local Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Adventure Crew, Church cemetery committee and as a Volunteer Monroe Ambulance Driver. Chris came to Monroe Animal Hospital after previously working as an Animal Control Officer. He also had prior grooming and kennel experience Chris started here at Monroe Animal Hospital as a kennel attendant and is now a veterinary assistant. Chris has plans to continue in this career field and become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. He enjoys hiking and camping.
Pete Signorelli

Pete Signorelli

Assistant/Veterinary Technician Student

Pete has been working with animals for more than a decade. After graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from East Stroudsburg University, he started working for a reptile rescue group bringing alligators, pythons, turtles, and other scaly creatures to schools, libraries, and birthday parties. He then worked in The Reptile House at the Bronx Zoo before joining the veterinary field. Pete has been an assistant since 2014 and is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at Penn Foster College. When he’s not working with our furry friends, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons and with his two dogs, Ollie and Bumper. He also enjoys football, weightlifting, quoting The Office, and cooking/eating anything wrapped in bacon.
Laura Reichert

Laura Reichert

Assistant/Veterinary Technician Student

Laura has been working at Monroe Animal Hospital since July 2019. She is originally from Quincy, Illinois and moved to West Point, NY with her husband, Zach, in the summer of 2019. Laura has worked in small animal veterinary hospitals in both Hawaii and Oklahoma over the past five years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Truman State University in 2014. Laura is currently completing her degree to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She enjoys assisting in surgery and learning about a variety of exotic species. When she is not caring for hospital patients, Laura enjoys hiking, reading, and snuggling her cat, Kona.
Johanna Fine

Johanna Fine

Receptionist

Johanna came to Monroe with 16 years of experience working with a wide variety of animals and 9 years in customer service.   Johanna has worked with a variety of domestic and exotic species including horses, African penguins, reptiles, and amphibians. Johanna grew up in Suffern, New York, and currently lives in Walden with her boyfriend Jason. She is passionate about wildlife and habitat conservation. In her free time, Johanna enjoys hiking, drawing, and photography.
